Iraqi journal of Embryos and Infertility Researches (IJEIR) is a Peer -reviewed journal published annually by High Institute of Infertility Diagnosis and Assisted Reproductive Technologies of Al-Nahrain University. It publishes manuscripts in the fields of reproductive medicine especially those related to the Infertility and Applied Embryology.

Types of Contributions:

The journal publishes Original articles, editorials, review articles, case reports, and letters to the editor, abstracts from world literature and reproduction medical news.


•Submission of a manuscript implies that  it is not being considered for publication elsewhere and will not be if it is accepted in IJEIR.

•Manuscripts submitted are subject to editorial evaluation and assessment by our referees.

•The format of a manuscript should comply with the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts submitted to Biomedical journals, published by the International Committee of Medical Journals Editors ( ICMJE ) (Vancouver, British Colombia, 1979 ) and its last update in October 2008, available on the web site www. icmje.  Org.


  • Manuscript should be type written double spaced on size A4 (29.5×21 cm) paper with margins of not less than 2.5 cm. on all sides. Pages should be numbered consecutively. Starting from the  title page . One original and two photocopies including figures, tables,  photographs and legends should be submitted. Begin each of following sections on a Separate page in the following sequence:

Title page, abstract and keywords, text ? Acknowledgments,  references,   tables, figures and legends.

·Manuscript and figure will not be returned to the authors whether  the article is accepted or not. A manuscript must be accompanied by a covering letter signed by all authors stating their willingness to have the paper published  in the IJEIR and that it has not been published and will not be submitted for publication elsewhere if accepted in IJEIR.

Title page:

it should contain (a) the title of the manuscript (b) names of each author  (first name, middle initial and family name) with the highest academic degree, and present position (c) name and  address of the Institution where the work was done (d) name and address (E-mail if available) of the author to whom correspondence should be sent.



a manuscript should include an abstract of not more than 150 words. It should be Structured in the following way; background, objective, method, results, and conclusion. An Arabic translation of the abstract should be included.



Three to ten keywords should be provided on the same page of the abstract. They should, as far as possible, be selected from the National Library of Medicine (index Medicus) Medical Subject Headings.

Arabic translation of medical terms should follow the United Medical Dictionary (Council of Arab Ministers of Healthy/WHO/ Arab Medical Union/ alesco, 3rd edition.


Manuscript text format:

Text should be divided into the following parts: introduction, materials (or patients or subjects) and methods, results and discussion.



References should be appearing in the list of reference in the order of their appearance in the text or tables using Arabic numerals. Once a reference is cited and given a number in the text all subsequent citations should carry the same number References should be formatted in Vancouver style referred to above Examples:

    1. Tables:

Each table should be typed double- spaced on a separate page, they should be numbered with Arabic numerals and include a short title. Vertical lines between columns are to be avoided.


    1. Figures:

All figures must be suitable for reproduction without being redrawn. Figure number, name of senior author, and title of the work should be written lightly on the back with red pencil. Photographs must be supplied as glossy black and white prints. The top of the figures should be indicated clearly. It is desirable to submit figures in an electronic file (e.g. on CD, DVD) in JPEG or GIF format.


Captions for figures must be typed; double spaced on a separate page appear and must not appear on the figure.


Proof Reading will be done by the secretarial office of the journal.

The authors are responsible for the accuracy of statements, data, and references included in the manuscript.

After the manuscript has been accepted for publication, authors are required to supply the final version of the manuscript on CD-R or DVD in a format compatible with Microsoft office.
